Brighton is vibrant and bustling with people. It was a fantastic destination for a day trip from London, taking only a couple of hours by train.
Brighton Pier is a must-see for any visitor to Brighton. It is one of the most photographed piers in Europe, stretching 1,722 feet long. Be sure to grab some fish and chips and stroll through the arcades and stalls along the pier. It’s an enjoyable trip for visitors of all ages, and this iconic pier dates back to the Victorian era. The Victorian pier has been an iconic feature of Brighton since its inauguration in 1899. For much of the 20th century, the pier was home to a prominent theatre, which regrettably was torn down in the 1970s after it was deemed structurally unsafe.
2. Hop on a sightseeing bus
If you’re not much of a walker, this is the best way to explore the city. There are three different routes available, taking you through urban, countryside, and coastal areas. It’s a fantastic way to see more in a single day. Tickets start at £14.
3. Get lost in the Laneways
In the beautiful Brighton laneways, you can find everything from antiques to jewelry to books. These colorful shops have something for everyone. The area gets busy, so it’s best to avoid visiting on weekends if you prefer more space.
4. Try some Fish and chips.
Head over to the fish and chip shop to enjoy their famous fish and chips. If you're vegan, don’t worry—they offer plenty of options, such as "tofish" from No Catch. Just a tip: keep an eye on your chips, or a seagull might swoop in and grab them!

6. Brighton Beach
This is a must-see when visiting Brighton. It's so lovely to stroll along the seafront and take in the refreshing sea air. You'll also notice the iconic brightly colored deck chairs scattered across the pebble beach.
7. The Royal Pavillion
The Royal Pavilion is an iconic piece of architecture you shouldn't miss on your trip to Brighton, even if it's just a quick walk-by. It's part of the Brighton and Hove museums, a Grade I listed building, and the former residence of King George IV, who designed it as his seaside retreat.
8. Sea Life Aquarium.
The Sea Life Centre in Brighton is said to be one of the world's oldest aquariums. It's filled with fascinating and unique creatures that are a joy to explore. It's also a fantastic experience for kids to enjoy.
9. Brighton Zip
If you’re into adrenaline activities, this one's perfect for you. It’s a famous zip wire that takes you across Brighton Beach, offering a thrilling seagull’s-eye view of the waterfront. Plus, apparently, it’s the longest zip wire on the south coast of England.
10. Seven Sisters
A breathtaking view and an ideal spot for a hike. The cliffs, sculpted by sea erosion, are strikingly rugged and composed of white chalk, making them truly distinctive.
