REX Airline Review - Business Class - Return Melbourne to Sydney.

by - 7:29:00 PM

  Hey Everyone

We spontaneously decided to take a trip to Sydney after securing Darren Criss concert tickets there. Debating between driving and flying, we ultimately chose to fly. I discovered affordable tickets with REX, also known as Regional Express.

Although we purchased economy class tickets, an email arrived inviting us to bid for an upgrade. We offered $50 each and, while on the shuttle bus to the airport, received confirmation that our bid was successful—we were going to fly business class! Elated, we checked in at the desk and made our way to the lounge, which we had access to. The lounge experience was new to us and quite exciting, complete with sandwiches, beverages, and coffee. We enjoyed the amenities until it was time to head to the boarding gate.

Our Plane from the window

We were the first to board the plane and had the privilege of sitting at the front. The seats were spacious with ample legroom and even reclined, which was fantastic. Once everyone was on board, we were offered a drink and promptly served. After takeoff, the attentive staff presented us with a choice of two meals. We made our selections and enjoyed the delicious, warm food full of flavor. By the time we finished our meal, we had arrived in Sydney. I believe those in economy were provided with drinks and snacks, while a full meal was exclusive to business class passengers.

Business Class
The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the flight was remarkably smooth. The check-in desk personnel were also very sweet and welcoming. We arrived in Sydney on Tuesday morning and departed back to Melbourne on Wednesday night.

On Tuesday afternoon, we received another email inviting us to bid for an upgrade for our return flight. Three hours before our flight on Wednesday, we learned that we had won the bid again, so we were upgraded to business class for the return journey at an additional cost of only $50 each. The service and food were excellent on the return flight. Although it was just a ninety-minute flight, the experience was definitely worth it.

Our food on the way up. it was A sausage roll with roasted tomatos, peas and a chutney. We also got a bread roll and a dessert. There was also a water and a chocolate

The food on the way back was a schnitzel, with caggabe and vegtables, The dessert was a salted caramel cake. We also got a bread roll, butter, A water and a chocolate.

I believe the seat belts were longer, which was a pleasant surprise as I usually require a seat belt extender. On my flight to Sydney, I needed one, but on my return to Melbourne, I didn't, and the seat belt fit perfectly.

I would definitely choose to fly with REX again; even the economy seats looked comfortable, and for a short trip, the smaller size wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Another aspect of REX I appreciated was the allowance of a checked bag, a carry-on, and a personal item. Since our trip was just for one night, we only needed a carry-on and a personal item.

Until next time.
