REX Airline Review - Business Class - Return Melbourne to Sydney.

by - 7:29:00 PM

  Hey Everyone

We ended up going on a spontaneous trip to Sydney because I ended up getting Darren Criss Tickets for his concert in Sydney. We were deciding whether to drive up of fly and in the end we decided to fly up. I found cheap tickets for the airline REX aka Reginal Express.

We bought economy tickets, but we got an email to bid to upgrade so we bid $50 each and as we were on the shuttle bus going to the airport from the value carpark we got the email that they accepted our bid and we would be flying business class. We were over the moon. We got to the check in desk and checked in. We also had access to the lounge so once we got through security we headed to the lounge. It was such a cool experience. We are not used to this kind of thing. They had sandwiches, drinks, coffee etc. So we just waited in the lounge until we had to make our way to the boarding gate.

Our Plane from the window

We were the first ones on the plane and we got to sit up front. The seats were wider and there was more legroom. The seats also reclined. It was amazing. Once boarding was complete we were asked if we wanted a drink and were given drinks. After take off the wonderful staff asked what we wanted to eat from a choice of 2 meals. So we chose and we ate. The food was so nice and warm. It had a lot of flavour. By the time we finished eating we were in Sydney. Im pretty sure in economy they were served some drinks and snacks. Its only business class that was served a meal.

Business Class
The staff were very friendly and the flight was very smooth. Even the people at the check in desks were very sweet and friendly.

We arrived in Sydney. We arrived Tuesday morning and left Sydney to come back to Melbourne Wednesday night.

The Tuesday afternoon we got another email to bid for an upgrade for on the way back and on the Wednesday 3 hours before our flight we won the bid again so we got upgraded to business class on the way back for $50 each aswell. We got great service and great food on the way back. It was only an hour and a half flight but it was well worth it.

Our food on the way up. it was A sausage roll with roasted tomatos, peas and a chutney. We also got a bread roll and a dessert. There was also a water and a chocolate

The food on the way back was a schnitzel, with caggabe and vegtables, The dessert was a salted caramel cake. We also got a bread roll, butter, A water and a chocolate.

I think the seat belts were longer because being plus size I usually need a seat belt extender on the way up to Sydney I needed one but on the way back to Melbourne I didnt and the seat belt fit perfectly which I was very surprised by.

I would absolutely fly with REX again even economy looked good the seats would have been smaller but for a short trip it wouldnt matter too much.

What I also liked about REX was that you can check in a bag and have a carry on and a personal item. Because we were only going for a night we only had a carry on and a personal item.

Have you flown with REX before? What was your experience?

Until next time
