It is recommended to replace your mattress every ten years. Recently, I was in the process of searching for a new mattress and explored various options, but struggled to decide on the right one because there are so many options. When Origin approached me to review their Hybrid Pro Mattress, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.

Origin's mission is to sleep by eliminating gimmicks. They achieve this by concentrating on what truly matters: the products and the technology behind them. Which is incredible.

Origin Mattresses offers award-winning, affordable, and sustainable solutions for achieving a restful night’s sleep. Developed by a team of engineers, designers, and doctors, these mattresses are crafted using science and rigorous testing to ensure ultimate comfort.

This mattress is equipped with over 5700 sleep-engineered titanium springs, providing a smooth and even surface free from the lumps and irregularities associated with lower-quality mattresses. Furthermore, features eight comfort layers, offering a luxurious, pillow-like sensation enhanced by an extra-plush pillow top.

Australia's leading luxury mattress is designed to deliver the ultimate sleeping experience. Constructed with 8 meticulously crafted layers of premium materials, it ensures the deepest and most rejuvenating sleep. Suitable for all types of sleepers, this mattress has earned over 30 international awards for its superior quality. It includes an extra-plush pillowtop, providing cloud and features the innovative Hexaguard Plus comfort layer along with an advanced Smart Climate Cooling System for a perfectly balanced and refreshing sleep environment.

My Review

When I received the box, it was tall and slender. It is remarkable how a mattress could fit inside such a small box. I got the mattress in a double.

It was highly enjoyable to watch it unravel and expand, but be sure to step back to avoid the risk of it knocking you over.

Initially, the mattress felt slightly too firm, but over time, it became comfortable and now molds to my body. I now experience exceptional sleep on it. I used to wake up with sore backs frequently, but with this mattress, I've actually been waking up pain-free, which is incredible. It's also a high mattress, which makes getting up so much easier than my old, thinner mattress.

This has to be one of the best mattresses I have ever slept on. My sleep quality has improved. It's like sleeping on a cloud. I feel so relaxed waking up on this incredible mattress.

This mattress would be amazing in summer because of the cooling factor.

About the Mattress

Origin's research and design team rigorously tests every material and mattress to meet high-quality and comfort standards. As a result, Origin Mattresses are durable for over 15 years, resist sagging, and maintain consistent support throughout their lifetime.
Origin’s Hybrid Mattress is certified by CertiPUR-US, ensuring it is free from ozone depleters and heavy metals like mercury, lead, and formaldehyde. This certification provides peace of mind, allowing you to sleep without exposure to harmful chemicals, while also protecting your loved ones during the night.
The 8 layers include
  1. PolarSilk Tencel
The luxurious pillowtop layer is crafted from sustainably sourced wood pulp, offering a soft, silky texture that feels smooth against the skin while providing an incredibly cooling sensation.

  2. Micro-weaved Australian wool
They use locally-sourced wool that benefits both you and the planet. Wool naturally wicks away moisture, helping to regulate temperature and enhance comfort. The proprietary wool blend is micro-weaved to improve airflow and ensure breathability.

  3. Graphite Crystal Latex Foam
Latex is inherently soft and offers buoyant support for a cloud-like comfort. By enhancing 100% Natural Latex with a Graphite Crystal infusion, it delivers 10% more cooling compared to traditional latex, effectively dissipating body heat deeper and away from the mattress surface.

  4. Proprietary HexaGrid™ Plus 🍃
Building upon the success of our award-winning HexaGrid™, they have enhanced their specialized polymer and cooling gel blend to create HexaGrid™ Plus. This advanced layer offers superior temperature regulation, increased support, and deeper relief.

  5.  ErgoCoil Steel MicroSprings
Crafted from premium-quality, high-tensile steel, each MicroSpring is enclosed in a soft, breathable fabric pocket, creating a highly responsive that ensures motion isolation and provides deep, supportive comfort.

  6. Bamboo-Infused Motion Isolation Foam
Traditional memory foam has been enhanced by infusing it with bamboo particles. This open-cell technology combines the supportive properties of memory foam with the cooling benefits of bamboo.

  7. 7-Zone Aerospace-Grade Titanium Springs
Made from aerospace-grade titanium, these springs are double-tempered and designed with varying coil tensions. This construction makes them twice as durable as standard springs, providing outstanding comfort and support, even in the mattress's deepest layers.

  8.  D-3 Edge Support
To ensure the mattress layers remain securely in place, they utilize a high-density foam three times denser than the industry standard. This design allows you to sit comfortably on the edge of the bed without encountering the undesirable mattress sag.

How to take care of your mattress:

Use a soft cloth to gently clean any spills. For small spots, apply a tiny amount of soap and water, but avoid soaking the mattress to prevent damage. This mattress does not require flipping. However, you could also try rotating it from head to foot every few months so that it can ensure even wear over time. One limitation is that the cover cannot be unzipped, so to protect your mattress from spills and dirt, it is recommended to use a mattress protector to help maintain the appearance and also add some extra comfort.
If you need a new mattress, consider giving Origin a try. They offer a 120-day trial, and if you are not satisfied with the mattress, they will collect it and provide a refund. Additionally, all returned mattresses are donated to local charities, which is an added benefit.
I have a discount code, WanderlustWithDanii25Off3006, to get $25 off your mattress. Expires 30th September 2025. The website is https://originmattress.com.au/

Origin also offers free delivery which is amazing.

I highly recommend this mattress for those looking to improve their sleep.

I hope you enjoyed my review of the Origin Hybrid Pro mattress.

Until next time

The beach is one of my favourite places to visit, but I do find the sand can be a little pesky—it seems to get everywhere, even after you leave! So, when Tesalate reached out to offer one of their sand-free towels in exchange for an honest review, I was happy to say yes!

I will be posting an honest review of the towel.

The beach towel showcased in the photos is the Alchemist. It is also reversible, featuring a striking black-and-white pattern on the reverse side, a design element found in all Tesalate Towels.

The towel comes neatly folded inside a lovely compact black pouch. This handy pouch fits perfectly into your handbag or beach bag, so you can take it along wherever you go. Plus, it’s a great spot to keep your keys and phone while you’re enjoying a day at the beach!

We brought the towel to the beach for a little adventure, and, of course, it happened to be quite windy that day! I decided to put the sand-free feature to the test by trying out both dry and damp sand. After leaving the towel in the sand for a while, I gave it a good shake, and to my delight, everything came off cleanly. I was really impressed with how well it performed!

I really love that this company is an all-Australian-owned brand! I love supporting Australian businesses. The fresh looks are inspired by the coastlines

The towels are built with a high-performance absorbLite fabric.

I also tested how absorbent the towel is after my shower. With autumn here in Australia, it can be a little tricky to enjoy the beach and the water. I found it to be such a lovely towel for drying off! It didn’t drip water at all, which is definitely a fantastic feature! It also dried quickly, which was excellent.

When I visited the website to select my preferred option, I was amazed by the wide range of designs, from floral prints to beachy themes and patterns, offering something for everyone's taste. It was incredibly challenging to settle on just one design. They even have a SpongeBob collab and a paw patrol collab.

Some information about the towel.
  • The full size is 160cm x 80cm
  • Rapid Drying, Half the time of a regular towel
  • Double-sided
  • Handy hook so you can hang it anywhere
  • Free Pouch
Tesalate towels, priced around $79 AUD for the standard size and $139 AUD for the XL version, are set at a premium. Nevertheless, numerous users consider the investment justifiable because of their exceptional functionality and durability.

If you are interested in purchasing a towel, please visit the Tesalate website and explore their beautiful designs.

I am not being compensated for this article, nor do I earn a commission if you make a purchase.

We really put the towel to the test by almost burying it in sand to see if its really sand-free.

Tesalate towels are an excellent option for anyone looking for a stylish, high-performance, and travel-friendly beach towel. Their sand-free design, quick-drying material, and compact size make them ideal for beach lovers and travelers alike. If you're ready to invest in quality, a Tesalate towel could enhance your gear significantly.

I hope you enjoyed my review. I highly recommend this beautiful towel.

During our visit to Rome, one of the must-see attractions was the beautiful Trevi Fountain. It was an enchanting place to experience. It was a bucket list item.

Rome, a city steeped in history and culture, boasts countless iconic landmarks. The trevi Fountain, in particular, is one of the most cherished and recognizable monuments. Whether experienced in person or through films, the fountain's beauty and magnificence create an unforgettable impression. Beyond its visual splendor, the trevi fountain serves as a vibrant symbol of Roman engineering, artistry and centuries of Mythology.

The Origins: A Journey Back in Time

The history of the Trevi Fountain dates back to ancient Rome, providing insight into the city's captivating past. Its location is essential — positioned at the intersection of three roads (tre vie), the fountain derives its name from "Trevi." It is supplied by the Aqua Virgo, an ancient aqueduct constructed in 19 B.C. by Marcus Agrippa, Emperor Augustus's son-in-law. This aqueduct was intended to deliver fresh water to the expanding city, with the Trevi Fountain serving as the endpoint of its route.

The Fountain served not only as a public water source for locals but also as a representation of Rome's sophisticated engineering and infrastructure.

Construction and Design

The Trevi Fountain has its roots in ancient Rome, but the structure we recognize today reflects 18th-century Baroque architecture. In 1730, Pope Clement XII initiated a competition for a newly designed fountain at the terminus of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct. Architect Nicola Salvi won with a design that captured the dramatic and intricate essence characteristic of the Baroque style in Rome.

Construction of the fountain began in 1732 and was completed in 1762. Its grand scale—standing 26 meters high and 49 meters wide—makes it one of the largest and most elaborate fountains in the world. The centerpiece features the imposing figure of Oceanus, the god of the sea, who rides a chariot pulled by two horses. These horses symbolize the contrasting aspects of the sea: one calm and the other wild. Surrounding this central sculpture are several allegorical figures, including Abundance and Salubrity, which represent the benefits brought by water.

The design features a blend of classical and dramatic Baroque elements, with water flowing from multiple levels of ornate carvings, which gives the fountain its iconic and dynamic appearance.

The Myth of the Coin

One of the most renowned traditions linked to the Trevi fountain is the act of tossing a coin into its waters. According to legend, throwing a coin over one's left shoulder into the fountain ensures a return to Rome. This ritual has become a hallmark for tourists, who enthusiastically engage in the custom with the Hope of revisiting the Eternal City.

The coin-throwing tradition extends beyond superstition and is linked to charity. Each night, the coins collected in the fountain are and donated to causes, supporting various community projects and initiatives in Rome. It is estimated that over1.5 million euros are thrown into the fountain, making it not only a symbol of hope and romance but also a force for good.

Cultural Significance

The Trevi Fountain has firmly established itself as a symbol of artistic and cultural heritage. Beyond being an architectural, it has been featured in numerous films, most notably in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960). In this iconic scene, actress Anita Ekberg wades into the fountain cementing its place in the popular imagination as a symbol of beauty, romance, and Italian grandeur.

Other notable scenes featuring the Trevi fountain are the Lizzie McGuire movie (2003), The Roman Holiday (1953), Three Coins in the Fountain (1954) plus many more.

Locals and tourists alike are drawn to the fountain, not only by its beauty but also by the emotions it evokes. Whether it is the mesmerizing sound of the water or the simple act of tossing a coin, the Trevi Fountain is a place where history, myth, and day Rome converge magically.

Travel Tips for visiting the Trevi Fountain

Best Time for Visiting: The Trevi Fountain, being a significant attraction, tends to become crowded, particularly during daytime hours. To enjoy a quieter experience, it is advisable to visit early in the morning or late at night when the crowds are minimal The is magnificently illuminated at night, providing a unique and more tranquil ambiance.

Avoid Peak Hours: Visiting in the middle of the day will result in large crowds and significant hustle and bustle. Early mornings, at sunrise, are ideal for pictures with fewer people in the frame. Late evenings also provide an opportunity to enjoy the fountain in a more setting. We visited at 7am and it was pretty quiet.

Beware of Pickpockets: As with many popular tourist destinations, the Trevi Fountain can attract pickpockets. Keep your belongings secure and remain vigilant of your surroundings, particularly when the area becomes crowded.

Dress Appropriately: Although there is no official dress code for visiting the Trevi Fountain, it is advisable to dress comfortably if you plan to walk around the area. If you wish to participate in the coin-throwing tradition, be aware that it is best done while standing back from the water to avoid getting wet.

Bring a Coin: Remember to bring a coin to toss into the! According to tradition, tossing a single coin will ensure your return to Rome. To make a wish, a second coin can be tossed over the right.

Nearby Attractions: After visiting the Trevi Fountain, consider exploring other nearby attractions. The Steps, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona are all within walking distance. The Trevi Fountain’s central location makes it the perfect starting point for a day of sightseeing in Rome.

In conclusion, The Trevi Fountain is more than a mere visual delight; it represents a significant historical artifact. With origins in ancient Rome, its Baroque design, and its continued relevance in contemporary culture, the fountain consistently enchants visitors from across the globe. Should you find yourself in Rome, ensure you visit the Trevi Fountain — and remember to toss a coin for good fortune.

I hope you enjoyed my post. Have you been to the Trevi fountain?

Until next time

If you were in London during Christmas 2023, you might have seen the Book Christmas Tree at St. Pancras Station.

It was a breathtaking sight. I'm delighted I had the chance to see it in person.

In collaboration with the bookseller Hatchards, which is the oldest bookshop in the city, this 12-meter tree was constructed from 3,800 hand-painted classic books, including A Christmas carol and the lion the witch and the wardrobe., over 270 shelves showcasing all the beautiful books.   At the base of the tree, a circle of cozy reading nooks invited visitors to sit and enjoy audiobooks. It proudly stood in St Pancras international station.

The trip was ideal for readers and Potterheads alike, who, like us, visited London during the festive Christmas season.

Sadly it has been taken down now but it was such a beautiful sight to see if you managed to see it.

Did you get a chance to see this beautiful tree?

I can't believe its almost been a year since I was in London but I still have so many posts to post. I will be trying to aim for 2 posts a weeks Ill also be posting on Tik tok @wanderlustwithdanii.

Update - This year in 2024 you can see a wicked themed tree.

Until Next time

  Hey there lovelies,

I've decided to share some old posts from my previous blog, Frangipanigoddess, on this blog.

They will be labeled 'Past Post' to indicate their age.

This particular post is from 2014, during a family vacation.

Reading it is somewhat bittersweet, as my mother, who adored traveling, has since passed away.

So, let's begin.

Our first stop was Bathurst - After driving for approximately 8 hours, we reached Bathurst. Our hotel was situated right on the racetrack known for car racing. The view was stunning, with mountains and the racetrack in sight. We had dinner at the hotel and later enjoyed some time in the pool. My dad even completed a lap of the track. The following day, we all took a drive around the track.

After Bathurst, we headed to Moree and checked into a motel. It was beautiful there too. The room was somewhat small, but for a one-night stay, it was fine. Naturally, the first thing we did was dive into the pool—there were three of them!

Upon our arrival in Caloundra, I was rendered speechless by the breathtaking view, with the pool situated just before our balcony. Our apartment boasted direct pool access, featuring a gate and stairs on the balcony that led straight into the water. I have a review of the hotel we stayed at here

We opted for a day trip to Maroochydore to indulge in some shopping, both for clothing and groceries.

Additionally, we visited Bundaberg, famous for its ginger beer and other beverages. Witnessing the production process was fascinating, and we enjoyed a short film detailing its evolution from past to present methods.

On Wednesday, we drove about two hours to the Gold Coast from our accommodation. Although it was pleasant, the crowds were overwhelming. We dined at Hurricanes restaurant, savoring ribs and seafood—an experience so delightful, I would recommend the restaurant to anyone. Unfortunately, rain interrupted our outing, prompting our return to Caloundra. To our delight, it was warm and sunny upon our arrival, and we immediately took a dip in the pool.

On Thursday and Friday, we stayed around Caloundra, visiting the Ettamogah Pub and the Big Pineapple. Afterwards, we returned to the apartment and went swimming.

On Saturday, we visited the Eumundi market, which was vast, essentially two markets in one. Afterwards, we headed to Noosa and then returned to the hotel, where we immediately took a dip in the pool. Later, we watched the sunset and enjoyed ice cream on the beach.

Sunday was a day of relaxation; we stayed at the resort, lounging by the pool and sunbathing to unwind before the lengthy drive to Forster the following day. (Stay tuned for another post with a review of the hotel, coming soon.)

We eventually reached our final stop, Forster, NSW. It was incredible there; although the pool wasn't directly in front of our hotel, there was still one available, which was fine by me. The next day, we explored the local shops and the area to see what was around.

We visited the beach and lingered for hours in the water, playfully battling the waves. One wave caught me off guard, and as it knocked me under, I happened to be filming with my underwater camera, making the playback quite amusing. The following day mirrored the first, and then, it was time to depart. We embarked on our 12-hour journey back home.

Much love...
Danii

Captivated by the stunning images of Hahndorf in South Australia on TikTok, I was determined to visit someday. While in Adelaide for a funeral in May, we decided to extend our stay and explore some local attractions, including Hahndorf.

This charming German village, situated a mere 28km (30 Minutes) from Adelaide along the freeway, makes for a perfect day trip. Its Main Street is lined with historic buildings from the 1800s. It's one of South Australia's most loved tourist destination. Hahndorf, as the southern hemisphere's oldest German settlement, offers a blend of rich history and picturesque landscapes, establishing it as a distinctive and captivating destination for tourists. The village of Hahndorf was established in 1839 by fifty-four German families who immigrated to Australia fleeing religious persecution for their firm Lutheran convictions.

Today, Hahndorf is a vibrant celebration of its German heritage, featuring traditional cuisine, festivals, art galleries, and museums. Visiting Hahndorf in autumn allows one to revel in the stunning amber foliage, while winter provides the cozy ambiance of roaring log fires. Meanwhile, summer and spring present perfect conditions for strolling through the town's charming shops and parks.

We began our day with a leisurely walk down the main road, pausing to explore the shops that piqued our interest. The abundance of beautiful antique shops was particularly striking.

Sweet Shop
The highlight of the day was visiting the German Village Shop; it was incredible to see. They offered an extensive range of items, from cuckoo clocks to beer steins, and they also had a vast array of Christmas decorations.

One of my favourite shops in Hahndorf

Beer Steins and Cuckoo clocks

Some decorations and also Beautiful Nutcrackers

We paused for lunch at one of the numerous German eateries. The traditional bratwurst served with mashed potatoes was scrumptious.

Other stores to check out

There is also a beautiful candle store called the 3 Wishes Candle Barn it's an aromatic delight even before you enter, offering scents such as mulled wine and gingerbread. If the wide array of fragrances doesn't appeal to you, there's also the option to personalize and create your own candle.

The Fruchocs Shop in Hahndorf is a haven for lovers of this beloved local chocolate. Make sure to visit and indulge in this distinctive South Australian delicacy. They also cater to plant-based diets with vegan Fruchocs available. We just had to buy a bag they are amazing.

The Alpaca Shop offers a variety of excellent alpaca products, featuring incredibly soft socks among other items.

The German Pantry – the moment you step inside, the aroma of cured sausages and meats envelops you. But there's more to discover, including a variety of European delicacies like cakes and biscuits, as well as teas, coffees, spices, pickles, and other ingredients.

The whole street is just a beautiful place to walk down on an autumn day.

There is also Beerenberg Family Farm close by and from November to April it's a great destination for kids and adults to enjoy picking their own strawberries. Sadly, we didn't get to see this because we went in May.

I'm thrilled to have visited this remarkable and distinctive location. It reminded me of our actual trip to Germany last December (which I still need to post about).

Have you ever visited Hahndorf?

Until next time
